Māma, e hiakai ana mātou!
Auckland Libraries has just celebrated the publication of its first te reo Māori children’s book: Māma, e hiakai ana mātou - Mum, we’re hungry. The book has also been translated into Samoan: Tinā, ua mātou fia'a'ai! Mum, we’re hungry is a universal story that has been written with aroha and alofa. Everyone will relate to its warmth and wit. Alison is joined in the studio by two wonderful wāhine: Teri Ta’ala (author) and Veronica Ligaliga (translator) to talk through the process of writing and launching this book.

Pass the Mic
Pass The Mic spotlights the stories and experiences of New Zealanders from migrant and former refugee backgrounds. The first series from 2022 is a community-led collaboration in partnership with Belong Aotearoa, Sport Waitākere and Storyo, hosted by Elina Ashimbayeva. The second series from 2025 focuses on the employment experience of lived experts and was made with funding from the J R McKenzie Trust.

A celebration of the best of Kapa Haka across Aotearoa New Zealand, this year's Te Matatini festival was hosted by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
