Unche

With contributors from Australia, the United States and New Zealand, Unche is produced by and for the Uyghur community in Auckland and beyond. Featuring educational content for children, literature and readings, focus on positivity, endeavours among Uyghurs, and more, enjoy this celebration of Uyghur language, culture, and spirit.

Presenters

  • PRODUCER: Rizwangul NurMuhammad

    Arriving in NZ in 2010, Rizwangul has been involved in the public sector and service provision for communities in Auckland through employment and volunteering.  She is passionate about the preservation of the Uyghur language and culture and leads the international team of contributors involved in making Unche on Planet FM.

  • CONTRIBUTOR: Shadiya

    Shadiya lives with her husband and son in Auckland, where she has been settled for ten years. She recently completed her studies in mental health and well-being and is has established a language school to ensure Uyghur Kiwis are able to maintain their mother tongue. Study takes up much of her time but she enjoys reading or listening to music in her downtime and is a keen swimmer.

  • CONTRIBUTOR: Rana Ghopur

    Best known for her short fiction among the Uyghur diaspora, Rana shares her audio recordings of short stories and poems on social media. She is a working mother of two, speaks four languages, and enjoys watching movies on her own. While reading is her main hobby, Rana enjoys walking and swimming.

Farewell
